Some of the best dogs in town. Make sure to stop by every time we hit the pier. My absolute favorite is the bacon wrapped hotdog, they call it a street dog paying homage to the hotdog vendors outside the Los Angeles club scene. straight fire

If you like crippling food poisoning then this is the place for you. My sister and I ate here on 12/7/19 and both ended up with the worst food poisoning imaginable. I will spare you the details but please avoid.

Stopped by for a quick bite. Visiting from out of town. Some of the best corn dogs we’ve ever tried. Dipped & cooked to order. Holy fantastic!

I use to LOVE Hot Dog on a stick. How hard is it to make good lemonade? Very expensive and the food wasn't that good. Waste of money.

I came here when visiting Los Angeles, staying near Venice Beach. I got a beef corn dog and a large lemonade. The large (50¢ more) lemonade comes in a big plastic cup and you get $3 refills if you bring the cup back. The lemonade was amazing, really refreshing and lemony but had the perfect balance of sharpness to sweetness. I also came back the next day and had a Cherry lemonade which was also really good but only subtly cherry flavoured. I got a beef corn dog one day and a turkey the next, and both were really good, nice and crisp on the outside, but soft and sweet on the inside with a nice juicy hot dog in the centre. They are cooked to order, so you will usually have a few minute wait even if there isn't a queue, but it is definitely worth getting a fresh one from here than a half warm dry corn dog from other places. Definitely fit this in to your plans if you are visiting Venice beach and Santa Monica Pier.

Old pier classic. Don't look for healthy options but great memories

I would say they stick to their recipe. I ordered hot dog on stick. Due to the long line what you'll get is freshly made but for some reason wasn't warm. It cost $4.50 and large size lemonade $5. Should try anyway

I went here many years ago. I was dying for the day to come from the east coast back! Made fresh in front of you, and they are awesome. Worth trying again and again.

This is my favorite place to eat. My parents would bring me here since I was a kid. Many times on my birthday, friends would ask to take me to eat, and this is the only place I want to come to on my birthday since it brings back so many memories of my childhood. This is the original Hot Dog On A Stick. The very first one since they opened. This is the first Hot Dog on a Stick store opened at the original Muscle Beach location next to the Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica, California, in 1946, serving lemonade and corn dogs on sticks to people on the beach.

Our actual meal was fine but our bikes got stolen right out front from the bike rack after we turned our heads to pay for our order and the cops didn’t care or help at all.. bummer

Horrible customer service. Quite frankly seemingly unsanitary; one girl was picking something out of her co workers hair before proceeding to dip our hot dog into the batter. No use of sink to wash their hands, no gloves & long acrylic fingernails.

Not as good like it used to be. Quality went down. My corn dog was very oily and not crispy on the outside. When I mentioned this to an employee she told me in a rude voice that I got what I paid for. Since I have to pay for this overpriced corn dog I'll go elsewhere and get something better for the same price.

Great lemonade. I bought a large plastic cup and always bring it back for a $3 refill when i go to the pier. Unfortunately the employees are lazy and throw out their bad lemonade right outside on the floor next to the trash can. They also manage to open up to an hour late and close up to 30 early. They can also be a bit rude by being on their phones when a costumer is waiting to buy something. If it wasn't for the employees this place would have 5 stars.

Landmark! Customer service was very blah. Fries were ok and my veggie dog was fine. Lemonade was fire as usual.....

If you're looking for a bit of "historical" nostalgia that is very U.S. of A., as well as some great 'gram pictures, then you've got to check out Hot Dog on a Stick at this location! The food is straightforward, the lemonade good, but the setting is great. Located steps from the sand, people watching here is top notch, as is the feel of "Americana". This is more of a stand than a restaurant, so order, walk over to the beach or find a bench, chow and relax! Note that glove laws in L.A. don't currently require food handlers to wear them, so don't be freaked out if a few, one, or none of the employees are using them. Enjoy the setting, the novel idea of the food, and the colorful uniforms!

a fading reflection of 1970...the atmosphere, of course, and the teenagers squishin the lemons, and clientele have changed so very much, but not the uniforms, the machines, or the cheese (and DOGS!) on the sticks. i think they still use the same sticks...some may say, "over-priced", and you will read others', "unsanitary", but you'll see me going out of my way to visit SM each trip to SoCal. from me, nostalgia can get a fourth star.save me a ticket for the Merry-Go-Round, Lulu!

the Hawaiian bread they use in the sandwiches is mind blowing and so creative. I love hawaiian bread so very much and im so happy I discovered Dog Haus. This place is great!

Portions are small.. I spent $20 on myself and still hungry. Hot dogs are the cheap kind.

For $12 you can get a box of fries, funnel cake fries, 2 corn dogs and a large lemonade! If you’re super hungry you can eat this on your own and be satisfied. Otherwise, share with a friend and enjoy the beautiful Santa Monica views. Can’t beat views like this! Located literally on the boardwalk, hard to miss. The employees were super friendly - they made our order fresh - including the fries! It takes about 7 minutes but it’s so worth it.Eating my box brought out my inner child. They have delicious tasting hotdogs with the perfect kind of corn meal - balanced half sweet half salty. Their fries are nice and crunchy. And yes their funnel cake fries were hard to stop eating!!

Hot dogs are overpriced! The service is horrible... they dont use gloves! I ewww . I was waiting for my order for about 25 minutes. DON'T COME HERE! IF I COULD I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS!

I always make it a point When I am bikr riding to stop here for a fresh lemonade or a hot dog. This place is the best. Totally worth waiting in line.

Good location, but not much to sit around. Got the typical dog and lemonade. I liked it. Price was mildly higher, but it is right there by the Pier.

Just what i need when i am in the area. Quick, delicious, and allow you to walk and eat at the same time. My nephew is in love with their corn. It is a little too sweet for my taste, but still they deserve a positive review.

Please get new management.! I didn't get my corn dog. After 25 minutes, I realized it's just not worth it. Went back to the beach with my drink.Note :I noticed while waiting that the lady who was making the corn dogs was in midst of dealing with a customer (who was clearly unsatisfied) to come back later and she would give her free tickets to a show to compensate for the mix up.

I met my friends at a mini reunion on Santa Monica Pier. Since hot dog on a stick was right there we ate there. Hot dog on a stick is like carnival food but healthier! The only corn dog that didn't get me sick.Tyra Banks said ti was her first job. The movie Charlie's angels had a scene there.

Good lemonade, but a bit pricey

Daughter chose this as our spot to try for the month. Great choice! Smaller than expected, but wonderful service, clean, and excellent food made with fresh ingredients. Who would have thought- sushi toppings on a hot dog? And those sushi tater tots...mmm mmm good. We will definitely return!

Other customers told me this is a historical one. It does look very old but with good food. The lemonade tasted fresh. Corn dog and lemonade make a great combination. Try the fries too.

Nothing beats a corndog on the beach. They also have cheesedog options for the vegetarians.
